Comfortable experience there. Pleasant accommodation with magnificent setting short walk to coast as well as the beautiful gardens. Light room, neat with lovely decor and balcony plus the bedroom, superfriendly staff.

Good breakfast and dining area. nicely designed room. big bed. bathroom with good shower over bath. good condiments in room (hot chocolate, biccies etc.) not busy at all. came back very late at night due to wedding do - but were given a key to the door - so you could come back whenever you liked. needed to book taxi - they had a phone to use along with number of local firms.
Wasn't always someone to ask any questions one might have (no permanent reception) room had no single glazed windows - heard lots of children outside in the dining area during the afternoon - however was quiet at night. unfortunately had a few of the kitchen smells wafting into the room when the windows were open. room was smallish. heard squeaky stairs in the hallway. warning - I overheard that they often hold wedding functions at the weekend. Nothing when we went, but I imagine that you would hear any loud noise in the rooms!

Hotel was pleasant and delightful, loved our stay.
Our double room was complete with the bedroom, a balcony, as example. Brilliant and pleasant location - walking distance to everywhere we needed. It was set in a good area.

Loved every detail about my wonderful 1-night stay at the Bickley Mill. the remote location in the Newton Abbot area was lovely. - It was a short walk to the restaurant and other amenities, making it convenient. - the establishment and footpath were charming. - the breakfast offered was satisfactory, with lovely granary toast.

Great location and friendly staff. It's lived up to it's advertising and we would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

The service was outstanding.
The breakfast was disappointing and the use of a floor mat under the table did not help the cleanliness of the room

The most outstanding aspect of our stay at The Bickley Mill was the attitude of the staff. Without exception, they were smiling, pleasant and helpful - and that included the cleaners! The food was excellent and good value but the stay was made by the staff. I asked at the end whether this was down to training or example from the top. I was told it was probably example. pleasantattitude
We did not like the lack of drawers in the room.
